We found this hotel by accident and were glad we did. It has just nine guest rooms, with beautiful grounds and furnishings, and it’s an easy walk to the town centre. Our room for two had a king-size bed, an airtight fireplace and a full bathroom. The shower was one of the best we’ve had in Mexico. The staff were attentive, and breakfast was delicious. We’d happily stay again on a future trip to Talpalpa and recommend it. Be careful when booking: Hotel La Cascona is a different hotel, isn’t close to downtown and doesn’t meet the high standards of Hotel Cascona de Manzano.

We got locked out on the first night because the kid who was supposed to work the night shift didn’t show up. Nobody apologized, and they made us feel like we were somehow at fault.
