Hotel Acantilado

The little calm beach in Tehuamixtle is just steps away, and Mayto is a short drive. It’s worth the long trek to get there, though Mayto is too dangerous for swimming. The staff were incredibly lovely, everything was clean, and breakfast was included for a great price. I’d stay here again.

The menu has plenty of choices, from hamburgers and hot dogs to "tacos governador," shrimp and octopus tacos, "pasta Alfredo," and beef. You can order food to the pool, and they have room service too. We found the service pretty nice, and the beds were comfortable. We were told the owner exports beds, so the quality is guaranteed. The hotel sits on the side of a mountain in a small town, with an amazing sea view, even from the edge of the pools. There are stairs to reach the rooms, but the climb is worth it. The weather is hot and humid, though the rooms have air conditioning. We had a really nice experience.

We missed our flight and lost $350 USD for two plane tickets because checkout took over an hour while reception tried to charge us with no or bad internet.

I recommend the hike above the hotel, where there are several viewpoints. The boutique hotel itself is really nice, with beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, air conditioning if you need it, and spectacular views.
