We stayed for three nights with a large group for a friend’s wedding nearby, and I’d give it about 3.5/5. The rooms were spacious and clean, with private patios we really liked. The staff were kind and accommodating, but they didn’t speak English, so we had to make every request in Spanish. They didn’t complain when we brought a lot of friends back after the wedding, even with the noise. The mountain views and all the greenery were lovely. We also enjoyed the massages and Mezcal tour. The sauna was a very unique experience, and extremely hot, so watch out! A rooster crowed constantly from 6 AM to 8 AM each morning, making it almost impossible to sleep in. Breakfast was fresh and always good, but it was chopped fruit, pastries, and whatever dish the kitchen chose that day. I would’ve liked more variety or a few menu choices. The pool was excruciatingly cold all day and never heated. We got two tickets for welcome drinks at check-in, but the bar was never open when we wanted it. Although they said it would be open daily from noon to 4 PM, we had to remind the front desk several times to bring a bartender. The drinks were limited to beer and very basic cocktails. After breakfast ended at 11 AM, there was nowhere at the hotel to buy food, snacks, or drinks. Downtown is a 15 minute drive away, so plan meals and snacks ahead.

The surrounding hills made for a peaceful stay, and the staff were attentive and helpful. They also made us a fantastic breakfast. We booked one night at Villas Mexiko during a last minute trip to Tepoztlán and had a great time. The accommodation is at the end of a lane, a little way out of town, so coming by car may be best.

It was a relaxing stay, with a lovely shared area, delicious breakfast, and a comfortable pool area. We loved how beautiful the place was. For anyone traveling with toddlers, a fence around the pool would be better. Otherwise, it’s a great location.

Jorge was the highlight of my family’s wedding weekend. My relatives had traveled from Canada and were worried about visiting Mexico, but they absolutely loved their stay. He was patient and so attentive to everyone. We felt at home and never lacked for anything, and the breakfasts were thoughtful and delicious. I first contacted Villas Mexiko through WhatsApp, and they answered all my questions, were flexible, and helped by sharing contacts for wedding providers. For the day after the wedding, I arranged a pool party with my guests, and they organized everything, going above and beyond. It was perfect. We also had a mezcal tour and a Temazcal; my sister played tennis, and we enjoyed the pool. The rooms were comfortable and gave everyone the privacy they needed. I reserved the place for my wedding weekend, and it couldn’t have gone better. I’d highly recommend Villas Mexiko for family trips and events!
