La Casa de los Globos

After visiting Lake Maracaibo Avenue and looking around this area for several months, I still haven't seen anything open for the public to visit or enjoy its attractions. It's hard to understand why a place with such a good location, developed infrastructure, and easy access to this part of Lake Tequesquitengo sits unused, or at least appears to. I understand the site is administered by the Morelos state authorities, but there's no sign of activities for visitors to Lake Tequesquitengo. If I've misunderstood the situation, I'm happy to be corrected.

We'd already made the reservation when she told us the house had been rented out the night before we were due to arrive. I only found out because I happened to contact her. The owner's attitude was appalling, and the whole thing was completely unprofessional. WE WILL NEVER RETURN.

It's a quiet, simple place to stay, with clean rooms that welcome dogs. There's no air conditioning, and the mattresses are a little old, but otherwise I enjoyed it. It's a restful spot for people taking a hot air balloon flight, with no TVs in the bedrooms. The hosts are excellent, attentive people, and the homemade breakfast is delicious. They also suggested several places to eat.

We had a comfortable stay, and waking up to the beautiful sunrise was lovely. The people there are peaceful. You can hear noise from other houses around the lake, as you can anywhere here, but it didn't bother us. :-)
