The location couldn’t be better, and we really enjoyed the breakfast, even though it wasn’t included. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was good, too. Just a heads-up if you sleep in: the ground floor can get noisy in the morning.

We were pleased with our stay and thought the quality was in line with what we paid. We might come back another time. Service throughout was friendly and professional, and we had no problems with it. The room itself was pleasant and casual rather than fancy. I slept well both nights on a comfortable bed. The water pressure was good, the fixtures drained properly, and the shower dispensers for Hair, Body, and Cond were handy. They smelled nice and left me feeling clean. Wi-Fi was easy to set up with the code they gave us, and the speed was exceptional. Check-in was smooth, and we were given Room# 4. We’d booked the Habitación Superior directly on their website for two nights, with Check-In: 15:00 and Check-Out: 12:00. The total was MXN 4,300.00. My significant other and I arrived excited to see what the stay would be like. On ENE 10, 24, we tried El Zaguán Restaurant, just a few steps from our room. We were helped almost right away and got to pick our table. I ordered a Café americano for $25.00 and a Jugo de naranja for $45.00 from Bebidas, plus Huevos a la mexicana for $75.00 from De La Granja. The eggs were Revueltos con jitomate, cebolla y chile verde, acompañado de frijolitos fritos. The americano was smooth, and even better with Sugar; the orange juice was really good. The eggs came out fairly quickly, and the whole meal was great. They brought free bread and salsa, both decent, though the bread was a little crispy and the salsa pretty spicy. Our server was attentive and brought everything we needed. Prices were friendly, and I’m glad we gave El Zaguán a try. Dates of stay: 09/01/2024 - 11/01/2024.

The main drawback for me was parking. It was about two blocks away, roughly a five-minute walk from the hotel. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend the place. It’s one block from the plaza, and the receptionist was super friendly. I had two rooms: one spacious room with a comfortable king-size bed, and another with two queen-size beds. That second room could use just a little more space, since you’re inches from hitting the bed closest to the bathroom when trying to get in.

At 1500 pesos a night, it felt like a decent deal, though they might be pushing the price a little. The location is right on point, and you could practically smell breakfast from the street. Breakfast wasn’t a highlight, though I’ve had worse. The room was extremely clean, except for a sink that needed unclogging. Soundproofing was amateur level: my kids’ and my own farts seemed to echo all the way to reception, like the walls were putting on an orchestra. They made a minimal effort to quiet the rooms. Oh, and you need the room key to switch on the AC.

Casona 1530 is right by the square, and Casa Sauza was an easy walk from there for our tour reservations. We drove over from Nuevo Vallarta and were allowed to park right in front, which was very convenient. The bathroom was clean and modern, and the mattresses were very firm. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The town itself gets very noisy, with lots of cars driving around playing loud music, so don’t expect a quiet setting. We had a nice one-night stay and highly recommend it.
