BelAir Unique, a Wyndham Hotel

I gave up on dinner after waiting nearly two hours. At about 11:45 pm a waiter finally knocked at my room, but I declined the food. It's not normal to wait that long, and they probably forgot about me. I went to the restaurant on the main floor at 9 pm. Before seating me, they said the kitchen was busy. Nobody came to take our order until I called someone over 20 minutes later. After we'd been there at least an hour, I asked them to send the food to my room so I could get on with my errands. I called at 10:55 pm, but nobody answered. Downstairs, a waiter said my two dishes and salad would be ready in five minutes. Back in my room, I got a call at 11:15 saying it would take another 10-15 minutes. BELAIR DO BETTER. At least be honest instead of telling me it'll only be a couple more minutes.

The building feels very old and poorly maintained. On arrival the staff seemed distant and barely explained anything. My room was really cold because the climate control was broken. The next day I was moved, but the shower head in the new room was old and the water didn't come out properly.

Our stay was okay apart from how it ended. A pipe broke on the morning of the 28th, leaving the whole hotel without water, so we cut short our reservation at Bel Air Unique, which was for the 24th through the 29th. Staff first said water would be back in two hours, then two hours later said another 2-3 hours, and finally told us there'd be no water until 10 pm. We lost half a vacation day waiting to shower and get ready, then checked out because we were tired of waiting. The front desk apologized and said we'd get a refund for the final night. When I called the next day, though, they said that wasn't possible. We were originally meant to stay through the 31st, but that was a separate reservation, so we did get a refund for it. Given the inconvenience of finding another hotel at the last minute, I think the entire stay should have been refunded. I'm very disappointed. If they'd just refunded one night, I wouldn't be writing this review.

The carpet was worn and warped, and there were visible stains on the bed linen. Worst of all, the shower was moldy. Honestly, if I'd had my glasses on, I probably wouldn't have stepped into it. Cleanliness and upkeep were clearly below an acceptable standard.
