Hotel Pedregal Palace

It was a comfortable place, with big rooms and bathrooms. It could have been cleaner, though: an earlier guest had left open chips behind. They need to do better with that.

The rooms are clean, and when I first reviewed the hotel I gave it five stars because it was extremely cheap, the room was a good size, and I felt safe. After later getting one of their cheap rooms, I changed my rating to three. Service was okay, not excellent, and having to pay to use the room telephone felt shady after paying top dollar. In winter I complained about not having AC, but was told there were no other options. You can't choose hot or cold air because the AC and HVAC operate on one system. The Wi-Fi was a little slow, and you could hear people walking in the hall. If you want a cheap hotel, you get what you pay for. It was nothing like what I'm used to in the USA.

For the price, this was a great place to stay. The rooms were spacious and clean, and I appreciated the hospitality. Staff were helpful and really understanding. It may not be fancy, but I'll definitely be back soon.

I was hoping for a minibar or some basic courtesy, but they didn't even provide drinking water. It feels like the place may have been good decades ago. Everything seems old, like it dates from the 80,s.
