Hotel Lucerna Tijuana

I was there for about 5 days on a business trip, and I was satisfied with the guesthouse and the facilities inside the hotel. But I still haven’t received the deposit I paid on December 2nd. The counter staff told me it would be returned within 3~4 days, and it’s now been nearly 2 weeks. Is there a way to get advice about this problem?

I felt right at home at Lucerna Hotel in TJ. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, and the place was spotless and well maintained. I had an amazing stay and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable, enjoyable visit in TJ.

The checkout lady was nice, but the bell guy just watched my child and me struggle with our hands full and the hotel door at 5 am while he chatted with security. He made eye contact and still didn’t help. Maybe I’m used to Marriott service or basic courtesy and professionalism, but I’m not going back. I also wouldn’t recommend this place or the rude rooftop bar host at its partner hotel K tower. I was very disappointed. I’d stayed at Lucerna in Mexicali and expected much more from the TJ location, especially for the price with other hotels nearby. The room was old and dingy, the AC was loud and outdated, there was hair on the shower walls, the shower drained slowly, and the plastic curtain was old. They kept the same toilet paper from the previous guest and just added a sticker. I didn’t take pictures because it wasn’t worth my time.

We chose Hotel Lucerna for its location and where we needed to be, though there were cheaper hotels around. For one night, Sat-Sun, it came to $190~ after fees and taxes. The staff were welcoming, answered our questions, and helped with what we needed. Our deluxe king was pretty comfortable, though it looked a bit older than the photos online and on social media. We faced the parking lot / street, and traffic noise came through during the night depending on traffic. The hotel can’t control that. The pool is in the middle of the property. I first mistook it for a fountain, and we didn’t swim because we had no trunks. There are lots of trees around it, so there were lots of leaves at the bottom. There’s also a rooftop sushi and bar you should check out. I’d come back if it were much cheaper.
