It's a lovely place with lovely people and atmosphere, if you aren't looking for a gym. Not having one was a downside for me.

The service was amazing from the welcome at check-in through to our departure, and the hotel is in the heart of Morelia's historic district. We came to Morelia for a birthday and found it beautiful. Whoever remodeled it did a great job. It's the oldest building in all the state of Michoacan. Highly recommended, you won't regret it.

The hotel is breathtaking, and the photos don't do it justice. The bed was so comfortable, and every employee was kind and helped us when we needed it. We also ate at the restaurant and were over the moon with how good the food was. I'd recommend both the hotel and restaurant again and again.

The manager was rude and didn’t seem interested in helping. We also found a cockroach in the bathroom the next morning, and the AC didn’t work. At checkout they charged us another $800 pesos to clean the sheets, saying there were stains we hadn’t left. They even said we couldn’t have alcohol in our own room, a rule I’d never heard of. For a place calling itself a 5 star hotel, it felt like they were just looking for ways to get more money out of us. Don’t stay here.

We had reservations for months for a wedding, with about 100 guests coming from the U.S. to Mexico in a couple of weeks. Today the hotel cancelled all of them, saying it wanted to schedule “maintenance” for those dates. It isn’t urgent and could have been planned for a time when they weren’t booked for a wedding. Now we’re scrambling to find another hotel that can fit everyone. Extremely unprofessional.
