North Hostel

Clean place, friendly staff. I spent about a week here traveling alone as a woman and felt safe and comfortable. It's a great choice if you want to enjoy Mexico but aren't very good at speaking Spanish. I highly recommend North Hostel.

Pilàr, who owns and runs the North Hostel, was a fantastic host. We got in late on a Friday night, and her excellent English made it easy to settle into our clean, comfortable room. She shared lots of tips for our trip. After getting settled, we went out for dinner and a walk along the boardwalk.

The beach is right next door, the bed is comfortable, and the facilities are clean. The family running the place is welcoming and helpful. There's a restaurant and bars opposite, so it can be noisy if you're sensitive to that, but this is the place to stay if you aren't. I love it.

On my 1-to-10 scale, with 1 as bad and 10 as superb, the welcome and hospitality get a 10. It feels homey, safe, pleasant, and the location is great. The rooms are clean, nicely arranged, and cozy with a modern home feel. Restrooms and showers are also a 10 for cleanliness. The kitchen is tidy and has what you need to make supper. Common areas are spacious and comfortable, with a computer, TV, and sofa; there's also a pool table and game room at the back. It's on the main street, and the front rooms look out onto it, where there's plenty going on. Music from the restaurant opposite might bother some people, but I slept perfectly with it playing. Someone said the showers were cold. Some stalls are, but if you move to another one and give it a little time, they work properly. They clean every morning. The free coffee was the best I've had in a hostel. Towels aren't provided, but if you ask, they'll help you out. Everyone is kind, respectful, and polite. The owner is a very educated, cultured lady, and you could talk with her forever. I recommend this hotel and would love to stay again 🥰 Gracie's!
