Ramada Encore by Wyndham Guadalajara Sur

This would have been my third stay, but they cancelled my reservation at the last minute. I called beforehand to say a delayed flight meant I'd arrive after midnight, and they assured me the booking was still there. When I got in, though, they had no rooms left and gave me no explanation. I called the next day, and the person I spoke with was very rude. They said a room didn't have to be held because my reservation hadn't been paid for. Then why offer room reservations on a website? Should guests just wait until they show up at the door? The staff member was rude and didn't seem to know what they were talking about. The manager was easier to reach, but only offered breakfast to make up for it. This hotel regularly hosts people arriving late at night, including visitors from big companies, so selling reserved rooms out from under guests makes no sense.

The whole staff at the Hub were so nice, and the receptionists were kind and easy to reach. I was here for a work assignment in Mexico and really liked the hotel. The beds were super comfortable, though there were too many pillows. The hotel-arranged taxis were reliable and convenient. The shower could use some maintenance, and the bed sheets needed a little more cleaning.

The staff at the Ramada I eventually reached weren't expecting me, and then tried to charge me for two nights. The manager said he'd sort it out, and he did. That Ramada gets a 10 from me. Everything else gets zero. I thought I was booking through the Ramada Inn website because the price and location looked right, and it mentioned an airport shuttle. But Guest relations placed me at the wrong Ramada Inn, an hour away in traffic, with no shuttle. When I called GS, they gave me the runaround, said a shuttle would arrive within 20 minutes, and told me to check “Priceline” for my questions. This isn't entirely Ramada Inn's fault, but why work with a company that has such a terrible reputation? Is it for quick cash?

Everything else was fine, but I wouldn't return because it was too loud for me. Music blared from different corners, overlapping until it became unbearable, especially outside the restaurant. I also wish there were a refrigerator in the room. The hotel itself is nice and modern.
