We had a reservation, but they didn’t honor it. To fix the problem, they offered my colleague a room for two with no air conditioning and two single beds. I said no, then accepted that room for my colleague so we wouldn’t have to change hotels, and they demanded payment. The receptionist laughed while this was going on. My colleague slept in a musty room with no air. My own room faced a transport company parking lot, where the trucks started up at 4 in the morning. I can put up with a lot, but not that kind of behavior. When the problem is yours, you need to solve it instead of making me pay, then returning the money only after you’ve checked and confirmed your mistake.

This hotel has fallen to the bottom of my list and would only be for emergencies. It’s old, in a bad location, the keycards are hard to get working, and there’s no fitness center.

The property is beside a highway, so it’s not convenient for an overnight stay while transiting through the airport. Expedia’s information misrepresents the location and services: there’s no shuttle to or from the airport, and despite the listing saying restaurants are four minutes away, there aren’t any nearby. The front office doesn’t answer calls.

It’s a good price, but the value is questionable. The rooms are old and tiny, in an industrial area on Guadalajara’s loop, about 15 minutes from the airport. Check-in was meant to be at 3pm; I arrived at 2:30pm and didn’t get a room until nearly 4pm. The AC was out, so there was only a fan and no cooling, with the outside temperature at 33C. I was leaving early the next morning and didn’t ask to move, especially since the reception was full of people waiting for rooms and the staff seemed to be having a hard time.
