The staff were nice, and I appreciated their friendliness, but the hotel needs some work. The online photos make the rooms look much prettier than they are. We saw peeling walls from humidity, some mold in the bathroom, and cockroaches and other small bugs. One room had an AC that didn’t work, but we were only there a couple of hours and didn’t ask to move. It has the feel of a remodeled motel. Maybe it’s nice, but I wouldn’t call it three stars, more like two. WiFi was extremely slow, and our AT&T phone service was slow or not working at all. The parking area is large, though I’m unsure it could fit cars if the hotel were full.

The restaurant was excellent, and I had the best michelada of my life there. I’d stay again. The hotel is beautiful, though I missed having bell service and an airport shuttle. We needed two very small taxis for four adults and seven suitcases, and the rides were quite pricey.

I left within the hour. The room I’d booked as a two queen bedroom had what looked like two twin mattresses, and the sheets were stained. The restroom also seemed old and dirty. The hotel is fairly old and poorly maintained, nothing like the advertised four stars, more like one. Front desk staff were somewhat friendly, but the restaurant staff weren’t kind at all. Motel 6 in the USA would be five stars by comparison with Hotel Paradise Real.

The front desk staff gave helpful advice on where to go and how to get around. The service was very good, and the rooms were clean and spacious. Marriott hotels are usually nice, and the one in Guadalajara was the same. There’s also a really nice place to eat downstairs.

It’s close to al Camino Iteso, and the staff are super courteous. Otherwise, the place feels more like a roadside motel for truckers. Be aware, they don’t speak any language other than Spanish.
