The dining space made it easy to chat with other travelers over breakfast, and there was plenty of comfortable lounge furniture too. During my week at La Bohemia, breakfast changed every morning and the food was excellent. The pool was great for cooling off when it got above 90 outside for a couple of days. This was my fourth year staying here, and somehow I like it more each time. The rooms are great, and you can walk to everything in town. It’s only a block or two from downtown’s hustle and bustle, so coming back feels like returning to a little oasis. See you again next year.

We’ve traveled all over and stayed in plenty of boutique hotels, including places off the beaten path and settings that weren’t glamorous. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but the high ratings and positive comments led me to pay far too much for this stay. I hope this helps others avoid the same experience. Our “deluxe suite” had an old door that wouldn’t shut properly, leaving a gap for spiders, cockroaches, and small flies or gnats, which are common in Todos. The constant cars and dogs made noise all night, every night, and earplugs are necessary, as other reviews have said. We live in a city and are used to noise, but the insects, spiders, and nightly disturbance still made us uncomfortable. Worst of all, we found bedbugs and were consistently itchy. For a hotel at this price, with such strong reviews and guidebook mentions, that’s intolerable. From 2-4am one night I searched for another hotel with better reviews and nicer rooms, and nearly booked it. But I couldn’t bring myself to pay for two places when we’d already been exposed to bedbugs. The pool is small, with little room to lounge. There’s an honor bar and free breakfast. The building is old, has gaps in the roof and door, and offers little to no sunset view, even though sunsets in the area are amazing. Four nights cost us $1000 USD. There are nicer, more modern, better located places for the same price or less. At that rate, this feels like a hostel with private rooms, not a nice boutique hotel. I’m now trying to sanitize all my clothes in a garage after a 5 hour flight home. I hope this helps someone. Update to the owner’s response: My review is honest and fair. You can see the infestation in my pictures. It’s ironic that you spent two paragraphs blaming guests for not talking to you before apologizing or showing any empathy about bedbugs in a room you charged $1000 USD for. You gave us your phone number because you left just after we checked in, and we were alone at the property all night. I used the number to ask about the blow dryer the room listing said was included, but it wasn’t there. We never ate breakfast or used the beach chairs. We spent as little time there as possible because we were so uncomfortable. I hope you fix the bedbug issue and your ego.

The gardens and rooms are spread across several buildings, with a central palapa and pool that make a peaceful place to sit. La Bohemia is a lovely little enclave right in town, so you can walk straight out into Todos Santos. The rooms are all different, with beautiful landscaping around them, and the hotel has stylish Baja decor, great linens and mattresses, and delicious coffee and breakfast every day. You can even buy the bedding in the gift shop. If you want somewhere distinctive, thoughtfully styled, and full of personal touches, this is a special place.

I spent 5 days here for a wedding in the area. The stay was peaceful and beautiful, with lovely landscaping and comfortable rooms decorated with good taste. The attention to detail stood out. Breakfast was delicious and traditional, served in the outdoor tiki hut, and the morning coffee was great. They also have alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks available to buy 24 hours a day. I’d recommend it.

The rooms are nicely appointed and the location is central, but that comes with nighttime noise. Street dogs roam in packs, among other things, and earplugs are provided. There’s a tiny pool with a pleasant lounge area and homemade breakfast. They charge a mandatory 4.5% credit card service fee on every booking. For what’s offered, it’s poor value, and the frequent guidebook listings probably contribute to the high prices.
