Hostel Che Holbox

Mami Dana and Papi Eddy put their hearts into making guests’ stays unforgettable. There are lots of activities every day, and always something fun happening at night. We had an unforgettable time at CHE Hostel. If you’re thinking of booking, definitely do it. I’d book again anytime! Gracias por todo

Che Holbox was easily my favorite of the multiple hostels I stayed in around Mexico over the last month. If you want a social stay with activities, memories, and new friends, this is the place. Dana, Eddy, Agata, Sasha, and Sacha are a few of the great staff who went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a good time. After 5 pm each day there were loads of organized activities, like mixology, guacamole making, Spanish class, karaoke, and dancing. The rooms and drinks were great too, and I couldn't recommend it more. The wifi worked great the whole time, even while I was working remotely.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was nice to see them cleaning all the time. I enjoyed my stay, though it’s worth knowing about a few drawbacks before booking. The rooms were clean enough, but there wasn’t an individual light for each bed, so half the time the room was totally dark. The shower pressure was next to none and the toilets never flushed, so every bowl was full when I needed to use it. I understand that this is a problem across the island. The hotel is on the other side of the island from the main beach, about a 10-15 minute walk.

A few days in Holbox with my best friend turned out to be the best time. Huge thanks to Amina at Che. Her kindness, friendly nature, and energy made every day of our trip unforgettable!
