Hotel La Casa del Sol Holbox

The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable, but there wasn’t much around the hotel. It’s a fair way from town, so expect to walk or take a taxi. The kitchen had no utensils or even cups, despite the room listing a coffee maker. Coffee was only available at reception, and the young woman working there usually didn’t appear until 10, so none in the morning. Wi-Fi was close to useless, the pool was dirty, and service and care were lacking.

We loved the calm atmosphere, the lovely nearby beaches, and the gorgeous pool and rooftop. The rooms were spacious and clean, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Aurora, who went out of her way to make our stay feel special. It’s a pleasant cycle into town, and we liked being in the quieter part of it. The place was better than we expected and great value. We’ll recommend it to anyone heading to Holbox. Thanks!

The shower was the best I’ve had in ages, with hot water straight away and strong pressure. There’s also a small kitchen that works well for breakfast, and bike rentals are cheap. The beds and pillows were comfy, the pool has nice places to sit around it, and the rooftop view is amazing.

Casa del Sol was a great fit for our birthday weekend. It’s two blocks from the beach and near beach clubs and restaurants for breakfast or lunch, while the hotel itself sits in a quieter area away from the tourist bustle. Downtown is easy to reach by bike or taxi. Our room was neat and had everything we needed, and it was ready when we arrived at noon, so we got to check in early. Carla was a wonderful host from the start, sharing tips and options for lunch, dinner, and tours. She also helped make a sweet surprise: balloons and a cake made of towels on the bed for my birthday. It really made my day. Nice place, good prices, and a super location. Highly recommend!
