This was my dream stay at Villas La Mar Todos. I love hacienda architecture, and the bougainvillea was blooming everywhere. We visited in mid February, with perfect weather, and the view from Suite #2 was hard to beat. It's close to the beach, and we watched birds near the lagoon. We kayaked there several times, and walked the Sugar Port Trail to a secluded cove to watch whales and sea lions. We went whale watching every day, and refreshed afterward at the San Cristobal Hotel beachside cafe. In Todos, we enjoyed the art galleries, restaurants, and shops. La Esquina and Doce Cuarenta are great for ambiance. Caesar took such good care of us, like a magic genie who made every wish happen. I also took Tony's yoga class. The higher-numbered suites are newer, but I still prefer this older one for the Spanish style I love. The winding rock path to our room was lined with tropical plants and flowers, and led to an arched double door. The concrete bed platform and kitchen island added a modern touch. It was so clean. The drive from the highway is rough, with dusty warm roads where dogs sleep and pointed stones that can catch your tires. It takes a strong suspension, thick tires, and a heart of stone. I'd still return again and again. Say hello to Caesar for me and book this room today!

There are a lot of stairs around the hotel, and getting down to the beach means a short, rough hike. Still, the room was just as advertised. From high above the lagoon, we watched ducks, pelicans, frigates, egrets, and seagulls passing through, with playful whales out there in the afternoon. Such a beautiful setting.

The beach hike takes a bit of effort, but we found it doable and worth it. Once you get there, it’s miles and miles of sand and water. We also made use of the on-site pool, and walked or hiked over to the sister property for its heated pool and restaurant. Staff could give you a golf cart ride too. The place was super peaceful, with an amazing view, and the host and local staff were really responsive. If you’re new to Mexico, know that the road to the Airbnb is dirt, bumpy, and not well marked. We still loved our stay and hope to come back.

We were a group of 13, each with our own room or suite, and the stay felt truly magical. The whole property has an unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean, with whales jumping and beautiful Todos Santos sunsets. It’s a peaceful sanctuary for a luxurious getaway, definitely off the beaten path. A well-traveled dirt road leads to this off-grid spot in Todos Santos. At check-in, the smiling staff handled everyone and carried luggage up and down the stairs. We got welcome messages too, and after that we didn’t have to worry about anything. We also had delicious breakfasts and cocktails by the pool at their sister property, La Poza. Thank you to Cesar, Ramon, Ulysses, and the whole crew at La Poza. We’ll be back!

Suite 10 was well appointed and really unique, and the property has stunning views for a reasonable price. Reception was very polite, and when I messaged about the loud, obnoxious wedding party in the suite below us during quiet hours at midnight, they took care of it. I appreciated that. One complaint: don’t go to La Poza, their sister property down the hill, for breakfast. It’s absurdly overpriced. Don’t make the same mistake we did.
