Hotel Nuve

The worst part of my two-night stay was the sewage smell in the mornings, even though the bedrooms were clean. I think this may be an issue in many places in Torreon. Everything else exceeded my expectations, and Pamela Castillo made me feel welcome when I arrived. I especially liked the rooftop restaurant, which is open at night, and the included breakfast with a beautiful city view made staying at least one night worthwhile. The lobby had a seating area, water refill, and business center, and the WiFi worked throughout the building. The elevator could be slow sometimes, but the stairs were easy to access. The receptionist and restaurant staff were really welcoming.

For me, what matters most is service, and NUVE gets my five stars. The staff were great, the restaurant was excellent, and the place was very clean and comfortable with new amenities. It may not be the most luxurious hotel, but comfort and cleanliness matter more to me. If you run into a minor setback, the General Manager will handle it right away and make sure your stay is satisfactory. That's been my experience.

The bar was advertised, but it was closed for repairs, and they couldn't say when it would reopen. The room was clean but small, with only two pillows. Parking is across the street. It was expensive, and you can find a better place for the same price.

Hotel Nuve has a great view over the City and the Cerro de las Noas Christ. It's close to downtown, parks, and bars.
