The oceanfront setting made our meal feel special, and the food was a real step up from our previous visit. My husband and I loved the shrimp and octopus, both prepared and presented beautifully. We also liked seeing everything clearly listed on the menu instead of the bar setup, it felt much more organized and elevated. The service was friendly, attentive, and professional the whole time. We were delighted with Tequila restaurant and would gladly return and recommend it.

After seven days here, we're already talking about coming back with the kids. We arrived expecting mediocre food and too few staff, but our experience was the opposite. The buffet does close on certain days, though they place you in à la cartes instead, which was a nice change. The resort was clean, friendly, and had a great atmosphere, with a level of care that really impressed us. The entertainment crew worked hard all day, from pool activities to evening events. Carlos 1, Carlos 2, Job, and Edgar made things especially fun and engaging. At meals, the waitstaff remembered our names and drink preferences. Daniel always called out to us and stopped for a chat, and Jesus was happy to bring tequila shots as soon as we got to lunch. Francisco and Librado at the main pool bar became our friends. They remembered us from day one and had both our names and orders down. I'll admit I got nervous before the trip, seeing all the awful comments and reviews, and we nearly changed destinations. I'm so glad we didn't. The staff did everything they could to make it a week full of great memories.

I was stressed for weeks after reading so many negative comments before we arrived, but this turned out to be an amazing holiday destination. The hotel is spotless, and the staff are always ready to help. At Don Pablo restaurant, Jairo kantun was fantastic at dinner, making flambé strawberries and maya coffees right at our table. The à la carte restaurants were amazing, and the buffet always had something good to choose from. The selection may be smaller than in high season, but I could always find something nice. Can't wait to come back xxxx

The only downside was the seaweed on the beach, though you can walk over to the coba/akumul beach. Otherwise, we had a great two weeks. All the food we tried was good, whether from the buffet, food truck, or à la carte restaurants, and the staff worked hard. The kids club and entertainment teams deserve a special mention. We also used the collectivo to get around on a few days. Just leave the hotel and flag one down on the highway. It seemed to cost 50 pesos per person regardless of which stop we got off at, whichever direction we were going.
