My favorite place I've stayed in Tulum. I extended my trip twice. The WiFi was great, the staff were nice and accommodating, and it's a quiet, relaxing spot close to Tulum's hotspots.

There's an amazing cafe downstairs. The pools get weekly maintenance, and the building is maintained regularly and professionally. Beautiful tiles throughout the units.

My apartment was spacious, clean, and beautifully set up, and the place itself is amazing. The rooftop pool is quiet and has a great view of the neighborhood. The sunsets were amazing, and the coffee shop downstairs is heaven-sent. I really recommend this place in Tulum!

The power outage was the last straw. We got back around 7pm after a day at the beach club, hoping to shower before dinner, and our room had no electricity. The host took an hour to reply. I felt sick from the heat and lay in the lit hallway, where I felt safer. When the building manager arrived around 10pm, she told me to go back inside or the police would be called. I explained that there was no light or air conditioning and I was dealing with heat exhaustion. They refunded half the booking and told me to find somewhere else, though at 10:35pm that was extremely difficult with check-in elsewhere not until the next afternoon. The host texted, “I don’t care, leave now or I’ll call the cops!” The manager got the power back on around 11pm, four hours after we first reported it. She said the owner had forgotten to pay the bill. I asked if anyone knew guests were staying that weekend, but she had no answer. Later the host accused me of being drunk and drugged. I was appalled. I was frustrated and ill from the heat, and we’d already had plenty of problems there. I think we deserved a full refund, not just 50%, and I’d never book Casa Imox in Tulum, Mexico again. Getting into the place was a mess from the start. The host gave us the wrong lockbox code more than three times and responded slowly, leaving us outside with our luggage for over 25 minutes. Once in, there was no host around to show us the property or answer questions. We accidentally lost our room key on our first night out. Luckily, the back entrance by the pool was open, so we could get into our room. The host didn’t reply until morning, then charged us $81 for the key. Even after we paid, we weren’t given a key to the main entrance and were told to memorize a code. After that first night out, we found a dead bug, hair, and stains on the sheets. We put towels over the bed because we didn’t feel comfortable using the sheets. We told the host, whose response was, “wow what a shame.” We had 9am excursions the next morning, but expected fresh sheets and towels when we returned. There were none.
