The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the location is convenient for the town center, though a long way from the beach. The website said there was air conditioning, but there wasn't, so the room was uncomfortably hot for sleeping. With the shutters closed for privacy, the heat built up even more. We were in the bungalow opposite reception, where leaving them open would have left the room in full view. The bathroom was basic too, and having only a curtain instead of a door felt odd.

The garden shared by guests was a welcoming, cozy place to unwind in the afternoon or evening. Our room was clean, and the shower worked really well with plenty of hot water. Set a few blocks off the busy main road, this small place has loads of trees and so many birds that it feels like being in the jungle. We really enjoyed staying here.

We were glad we booked Secret Garden when we decided to add a night in Tulum. The owner/manager was helpful and kind, and the thoughtful little touches, especially the fairy lights on the swing outside each room, gave the place a lot of charm. It's peaceful and distinctive, and the price is hard to beat. Just know it's not a luxury stay: there were a few mosquitos, the bathroom was small, and it had a curtain instead of a door, which might catch new couples off guard. If you're driving, street parking is available. I'd happily stay here again on a return visit.

Melissa, the hostess, was fantastic. She gave us detailed advice about places to visit in Tulum, local food, and how to get around. The room was spotless and had both air conditioning and a fan. The courtyard is filled with lovely trees and plants. It's a really nice spot at the south end of town, and I highly recommend it.

Jorge was a huge help, pointing out what's around town and how to get around. Our room was so clean and cozy, and we loved relaxing in the beautiful garden. Such a great little hidden spot. We can't wait to come back!
