We arrived at Chiibal at the end of February to find the place nearly deserted. There was no staffed reception or anyone available to help with check-in or other problems. A staff member initially wouldn't hand over the key unless we paid again for an airport transfer we'd already paid for, and all communication was through WhatsApp. The room was old and poorly maintained, with rust, mold in several spots, and generally bad hygiene and cleanliness. I also found my registration paper, with all my personal details, left openly on the reception desk where anyone could see it. That felt unsafe and unprofessional. Because it was late and no one was there to help, we stayed one night and left the next day, although we'd booked four. The stay was a long way from what had been advertised. I'd urge future guests to check recent reviews and photos carefully. It didn't meet basic standards for cleanliness, upkeep, or guest support.

The room was filthy, with dirt everywhere, visible mold, and no sign that it had been cleaned. The pool looked more like a garbage dump. The whole resort seemed abandoned and was in terrible shape, nothing like the online photos. When we arrived, nobody was at reception, so we had to reach someone on WhatsApp. Instead of welcoming us, they threatened not to give us the room key unless we paid for the transfer again, even though we'd paid in full already. There was never any staff around to talk to or make a complaint to. When we left early because it was unbearable, they said there'd be no refund, so we lost our money. Don't book this place. The glamping felt more like cramping, and the experience ruined our vacation. They didn't seem to care.

After long days at the beach or walking around Tulum, this place had everything I could need, including AC, and everything was within walking distance. The domes are beautifully decorated, the beds are comfortable, and there's both hot and cold water. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Coming from Argentina, I thought it was amazing. Staying here was a pleasure, and I'll definitely come back :)

The room was tidy and roomy, a sort of jungle mix between an igloo and a tent. The AC worked well, the beds were comfortable, and the showers were good. WiFi was poor, though, and the outside door wouldn't shut all the way, so insects kept getting in. There's no direct hotel access to the beach. You have to cross another resort, and using its shaded areas means spending 50 USD on food or drinks during the day. There's no public beach access within walking distance. Also, the beach club next door plays loud music until 1 am. You hear every word and song, so don't expect to sleep before then.

The room itself was perfectly fine for the price, and we actually liked it. We usually book budget places and stayed in one of the two rooms in the building, not a dome or tent. The location is good value compared with the resorts. If you're looking to party until 1 am on a budget, it might be five stars. For us, it wasn't acceptable. There was a small fridge, AC by the bed, a nice big shower with hot water, a king size bed, a dedicated workspace, a little coffee maker (no coffee provided), and cute decor. The downsides were spotty WiFi, ants (it's the jungle, so not a big deal), and no food, drinks, or other consumables on site. There's no easy beach access or arrangement with the neighbors to use theirs. The hosts don't speak English. You have to ring a bell to get in or out through the property's only exit, which is padlocked. Next door, music blasted until 1 am and shook the walls, even on Sunday night. A large generator at the front gate was loud too, and we could hear it day and night from our room.
