The cabins sit among trees, with birds and squirrels around them. Aside from the shower, things were quite good. Its weak stream sprayed into the middle of the bathroom, and the curtains could only contain so much.

The pool was clean, with a palapa and speakers you can connect to by Bluetooth. We stayed in a container with a private bathroom, so I didn't need to go into the shared one, though it looked clean from outside. The front desk area looked clean too, and the towels were large. You can ask for one to use at the pool. I liked being in nature in Tulum while still having a private room with double beds, bunk beds, AC, and hot water in the shower. I'd recommend staying here, though someone else paid, so I can't comment on the price.

The dorms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. I liked the pool and the relaxed atmosphere, which felt calmer than the busy parts of Tulum. Just don't count on a proper kitchen, there isn't a way to cook.

The kitchen currently only has a microwave and refrigerator, so bring your own utensils if you plan to cook. There is water available for refilling bottles, a little shop around the corner for a few food items, and a small restaurant next door, plus another about 3 km down the road toward the cenotes. Breakfast with coffee was nice, served by especially polite staff. Everyone working there was welcoming, friendly, and clearly trying hard to please guests. The hostel/hotel is beautiful, clean, and friendly, everything feels new, and the room was spotless with a comfortable bed and great AC. The pool was amazing too. Not sure if the limited kitchen is due to Covid. I'll be back and can easily recommend it.

We were two women traveling alone, and being stranded outside our room in the middle of nowhere felt very unsafe. On our final night, a little before 10, the electronic lock broke. Nobody was on site to help, no emergency number was posted, and knocking and shouting at several doors got no response. I speak good Spanish and eventually reached two truck drivers at the hotel next door. They directed me to a restaurant owner who somewhat knew our hotel's owner and helped get someone over within 20 minutes. That person was very casual about it and nearly left even though the keys still didn't work. After an hour, the owner arrived, ignored us, and didn't apologize for the huge inconvenience. They spent over 30 minutes trying to reset the lock electronically, then had to break into the next bungalow to open our door. The lock still wasn't fixed. Inside, I found a takeaway box full of food on our bed that definitely wasn't ours. I took a towel to shower in the shared area while they worked on the door and found salsa all over my “clean towel.” We realized afterward that someone had gone through our things. The owner gave up fixing the door and left. The next day, before our bus, I said this was unacceptable and asked for some money back. He promised a night's refund, gave me a number, and drove us to the station. A day later the number was disconnected. It was fake, and we're still pursuing the refund through booking. The rooms are shipping containers beside the motorway between Tulum and Playa del Carmen, and smelled strongly of mold or septic tank. Our shower didn't work, so we had to use the communal one by the pool, which wasn't what we paid for. It seems the lock problem has happened to others before. If we'd arrived later, we might have been stuck outside all night. I really wanted to like this place, but so much went wrong that I can't recommend staying here.
