casa sofia was a lovely place for my short stay. jose was great to talk with and is a natural host. The room was clean and had all the amenities I needed.

The location was perfect, and Casa Sofia is just our kind of place: small, quaint, locally run, clean, and beautiful. My partner and I spent a fantastic week there and felt at home. It’s not a resort. Jose, the owner and super host, was extremely accommodating. One last thing: I think the star ratings would be higher if people didn’t mistake this place for a restaurant. It hasn’t been a restaurant, at least in recent years. The other comments are pretty accurate. Thanks, Jose!!!

The owner was really nice and helpful, the room was big, and the service was good. Everything was amazing.

We stayed five nights and only had hot water on one of them. It wasn’t extremely cold, so showering was possible, but hot water throughout would have been nice. Even with that issue, I really enjoyed the stay and would happily come back. The rooms are large, there’s AC, and the Wi-Fi worked more or less. Staff were very nice and helpful, and coffee and biscuits were provided in the morning. Parking on the street was easy, usually right in front of the hotel.

Jose, the owner, is a very nice man with a good sense of humor. My room was clean and had air conditioning, and the shower was good with hot water. It’s centrally located, convenient for getting around town or heading to the beach or ruins, and very close to the ADO bus terminal.
