We’d absolutely stay here again. It’s a family-run hotel and restaurant, and the rooms were spacious, spotless, with good water pressure and hot water. Amy speaks English and makes good burgers on Thursdays at local prices. The Coba ruins are just a five-minute walk down the street. This was our favorite hotel of all the places we stayed in Mexico. No need to look elsewhere in Coba.

We were the only guests while we were there, so it was nice and quiet. The stay was great overall. The one thing we didn’t like was that the curtains facing the hallway were see-through, so keep the lights low.

Coba was a lovely break from busy Tulum, with more to do around town than we expected. A friendly woman at the hotel gave us lots of information in Spanish. We walked to the ruins, then rented bikes at the entrance and rode out to the cenotes. The hills and heat made the ride a bit tough, but the cenotes were worth it. There’s also a traditional Maya town along the way, though we ran out of time to visit. The town has animals roaming around, including roosters and dogs, and they can interrupt your sleep. That’s part of life there, so bring earplugs or listen to music through headphones if the noise bothers you. The hotel is a bit dated and rustic, but that’s part of its charm. Our room was clean, nicely decorated, and had a hot shower. The water pressure was very low one night, probably because many people were showering, but it didn’t cause us much trouble. We ate at Chile picante on two evenings and enjoyed the food, including the vegetarian options.

A great base for getting an early start at the phenomenal ruins. I stayed one night and found the hotel and restaurant staff friendly, helpful, and flexible. The room and grounds were immaculate and well maintained, and the pool was a nice afternoon bonus. Breakfast included fruit, cereal, tea, and coffee. There were roosters and turkeys around too, which added to the town’s character.

Love Hotel Maya. It’s family owned, safe, clean, and handy for local sites. The food is divine, the pool and atmosphere are so relaxing, and every staff member was amazing and on top of every detail. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
