Hotel Tulum Iguanas

The sheets and furniture were old and filthy. The manager blamed guests for making them dirty and tried to charge for them. In my experience, the place is run down despite the photos, which look years old. Staff don’t do their jobs properly and don’t respect guests. Water often isn’t available, or it’s only hot. Power cuts are common, and the internet is unreliable. The manager’s behavior was disturbing. She yelled at staff in the courtyard, even in the middle of the night, walked around naked, and kept the main entrance blocked in her delusions. Guests had to use the back door, where she changed the lock on a whim, so you could end up without a key. Those and many other bad experiences left me strongly recommending that people look elsewhere, even if it costs more. This hotel isn’t worth it and should be closed.

The only good thing was the staff’s attitude. Otherwise, it was a terrible experience, and I’d say don’t book here. The rooms had cockroaches and were filthy, the bathroom was disgusting, there was no hot water, and the bathroom water smelled like sewage. They claimed to have flat-screen TVs, but didn’t. There was also a couch covered in blood that was never cleaned. The agency I booked through sent me here, but the owner said she had no agreement with them. It was already very late, so we had no other option but to stay, and she charged us for the night. By the time we reached the agency, we’d already paid. Please don’t fall for it, it felt like a total scam.

Looks like a decent hotel, and they allow pets.
