Atocha, the owner, is what makes this place special. She knows tourism and went out of her way to help us have a great vacation. Jaakbal is in a quiet part of Tulum without many large buildings, yet downtown is only about five minutes away by car. Getting around by car, taxi, or bike is easy, and there’s a garage. The room was beautifully designed, the beds were very comfortable, and the shower had great pressure. There’s also a lovely pool and a fully equipped kitchen with free coffee and tea. We looked at a lot of hotels and Airbnb options before choosing, and we really recommend staying here.

Atocha was such a sweet, helpful host. We also loved the quiet neighborhood, which is still an easy walk or bike ride from the town center. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the garden and open kitchen downstairs are beautiful. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

We especially enjoyed not being surrounded by the usual Tulum tourist scene. The place itself was beautiful, clean, and welcoming, and the owner was kind, helpful, and great at communicating. We loved our stay and already want to come back.

The staff were really friendly and it’s a great hotel. One small drawback is that the pool is only 40 cm deep. Parking is on the street, though cameras watch the spaces.
