The room had everything we needed, including air conditioning, a kitchenette, and a great shower. After booking two nights and seeing the place, we added another. The value for the price is hard to beat. It’s right in downtown Tulum, about a five-minute walk from the ADO terminal, and owner Gary is friendly, practical, and full of useful tips for getting around and finding places to eat.

I was comfortable in my rooftop studio, which made a difficult trip easier to manage. This was my first trip since my breast cancer diagnosis, while I was in treatment, and I needed somewhere simple, affordable, and close to what I needed so I could write, rest, and reset. Radiation complications sent me to the hospital during my stay. The owner stayed in touch and sent useful information over WhatsApp. Google Maps wasn’t accurate, but kind locals helped me find my way. I ended up needing emergency surgery. Miguel, the onsite support, speaks Spanish and was helpful with the little things. I wish someone had been at reception during the day, though I understand this isn’t a big hotel. The owners live about 45 minutes away and clearly try to stay connected. There was construction nearby, but it wasn’t loud or disruptive. I spent a lot of time on the roof. The night views were beautiful, and the space could feel even more relaxing with a bit more care. I liked the old-school clothesline. The pool is shaded and cold, which isn’t for me. The shower pressure was great, but there’s no tub. The bathroom mirror is stylized and not very useful for checking how presentable you look, and having no full-length mirror was a big letdown. That would be an easy fix. It’s peaceful at night, well cared for, and easy to get around on foot. I’d say it suits solo travelers and baecations better than big groups or families with small kids. I’d stay again.

We were six people and split between two rooms, both of which suited us well. They were spacious and well kept, with a little kitchen area that had a big fridge, two stovetops, a sink, and plenty of dishes. No microwave or oven, but we didn’t need either. The bathrooms and showers were a good size. One bathroom had no door, though the wall angle kept it fairly private. There’s a TV with lots of channels, and you can sign into streaming services if you like. The outdoor pool is cold, good for a quick dip, and there’s an outdoor rinse shower. After the beach, the rooftop patio clothesline came in handy for towels and swimsuits.

There are laundromats, shops, and moped rentals nearby, and the hotel is close to the main street’s bars and restaurants while still sitting on a quiet street. We loved the roomy, beautiful room and the comfortable mattresses. The kitchen had pans, cutlery, and a toaster. The bathroom has no door, but the shower is great and toiletries are provided. I’d happily recommend it.
