Lobo Inn - Hostel

A nice little outdoor cafe and bakery on the road into Tulum. The coffee and baked goods were great.

We’ll be back. The family who runs the hotel are very pleasant, speak several languages, and were happy to share information and advice. The breakfasts were delicious, and the small courtyard was lovely. Our room at the back was clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned. The owner made sure the rooms there stayed quiet. The location worked well for us: close to the archaeological site and colectivos, and a 20-minute walk to the beach, compared with an hour from hotels in the center.

We loved the hotel and plan to come back soon. It’s eco-friendly and really close to the archaeological site, with a pool that was perfect for cooling off afterward. Transportation to Akumal and all the cenotes passes right outside.

Maybe I just had bad luck, but this place didn’t give us the comfort or quiet we’d hoped for in Tulum. We paid for air-conditioned rooms, but because of problems with the property, I was given rooms with fans instead. I wasn’t refunded for the inconvenience, and the owners showed no understanding or offered a room change, saying the problems weren’t their fault. What was offered didn’t match reality. I hope this helps others, and suggest checking the place in person before booking. The three families who stayed with us don’t recommend it. The photos really show the gap between expectations and reality 😅😅😅
