The Waves Tulum Hotel

The rooms are really spacious and the property is quite nice, though it could use some upkeep. We had a car, so I can’t really judge the location. The stay was positive overall, but if a kitchen is listed as an amenity, it should come with basics like dish soap and a sponge. Otherwise, it shouldn’t be advertised as a kitchen.

The pools looked lovely, but some weren’t as clean as I expected during my stay, and at times they looked a bit dirty. More regular cleaning could make them one of the best parts of the hotel. The staff were friendly, polite, and welcoming throughout, and tried to help whenever I needed something. The design is beautiful and modern, with stylish rooms and common areas that feel relaxed and fit Tulum well. I had a pleasant stay at The Waves Tulum and would consider coming back. With more attention to pool cleanliness, the experience could be even better.

For a cheap price, we got a beautiful place with a kitchen. The pools were nice, cleaned daily, and never too crowded. I especially enjoyed the rooftop pools and used the gym equipment every day.

The rooms weren’t very clean, the toilets were broken, the plumbing was bad, and stray dogs barked all night. The area felt like the slums, and the place didn’t look like the pictures. I booked through Expedia, but when I arrived they refused to honor the reservation. They said they no longer did business with Expedia, and that I’d have to pay them directly if I wanted a room. They also said I had to get my refund from Expedia myself. A horrible experience, with very poor business practices.
