I paid just 389 pesos for a clean, roomy first-floor room, number 5, with AC, WiFi, a window, and hot water at full pressure. We arrived close to midnight, and Profirio at the desk was kind and helpful. Booking.com didn't require prepayment, which made it easy to book after I'd read so many bad reviews of places around Tuxtla Gutierrez Chiapas. What a find. I can't imagine getting a better deal in the city for under 20 USD.

After traveling a long way, I expected to check in and unwind, but they told me every room was full even though I had a reservation. If there aren't rooms available, they shouldn't take online bookings. Instead, I had to go looking for somewhere to stay. So frustrating.

The bed had a strange plastic cover under the sheet, and the hotel is obviously older. Still, it was decent value for the money and in a convenient enough spot. Fine for a night.

The room was spacious and the bathroom decent, and being right on the main avenue is handy. But the AC in my room didn't seem to work properly, and the bed sank gradually, maybe because the mattress was old. For the price, I'd expect more, especially for a basic room. They could have lower rates for longer stays. I know it's not a sex motel, but similar pricing options would make sense given how steep it is. It's okay for resting or a few other things if you're staying in all day, but otherwise it doesn't really suit.

The young man who helped us was really friendly, but the room was infested with bedbugs. It was already late, so we didn't switch rooms. I shook the sheets, crushed the bugs, and flushed them away. Then I put my baby on the bed and saw about six bugs crawling on her, and she'd already been bitten. It was traumatic. We ended up changing hotels at 2 a.m. Please take this seriously, it's disgusting. I only thought to take photos after I'd flushed several bugs down the toilet. Evidence attached.
