The room itself was clean, with three comfortable beds, good cable TV and Wi-Fi, and an air conditioner that worked great. The front desk clerk was friendly and even carried our bags upstairs, since there’s no elevator. But the advertised airport perks were false: we were traveling with four family members and an infant, and there was no free parking or shuttle. We paid to park in a nearby public lot. When we raised it, the clerk said, “it’s a lie,” then offered to find a cab using his cell phone in a way that seemed suspicious. We declined and found one ourselves. The airport was 45 minutes away, not 15, and the hotel is poorly placed for airport trips or travel toward northern and eastern cities.

For 150 pesos a night, I had a whole hostel floor almost to myself. My room had three bunk beds, plus a balcony where I could dry my clothes, and there was a kitchen area and four bathrooms to choose from. The building splits its floors between hotel and hostel use, and the hostel rooms are converted old hotel rooms. It didn’t seem very busy or popular. Staff were friendly and respectful, drinking water was available, the rooms had lockers, and the Wi-Fi was really fast. We arrived at 8am after an overnight bus from Oaxaca, and they let us check in even though check-in is at 1pm. The only drawback was no AC. Highly recommend.

The rooms were clean, and it worked well as a place to stay while traveling through. The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was nicely arranged.

I’ve stayed here before, and each time I’ve received the kind of service we all hope for. Great service. I recommend it to anyone visiting Tuxtla Gutierrez Chiapas.

Breakfast is included in the room price, and downtown is within walking distance. Good value.
