Hotel Barrancas Del Cobre

We had a great time as a family, with amazing views and great service. Fernando, Bryan, and Margarito went above and beyond to make the visit memorable. Highly recommended.

The room was basic for twice the price. The receptionist was nice, though, and they brought me an electric space heater when the heater in my room turned out to be broken. A maintenance man had supposedly inspected it before check-in and said everything was okay. There’s nowhere to eat nearby except at a neighboring hotel, where you can only eat at certain times. The food is super expensive, and they give priority to larger tourist groups.

The staff's service is way above and beyond, and it’s a beautiful hotel, as are the others owned by the same company. But be careful when booking, because this one is often confused with "El Mirador" at Barrancas del cobre. They’re literally within walking distance of each other. "El Mirador" is the one with the unbelievable view of copper canyon. Do your research and call the hotel to make sure you’re reserving the one you want. This happened to us. Switching the reservation to El Mirador comes with a significant extra charge. Be vigilant and check first.

The property is rundown, the service was terrible, and it feels set up for bus tours. Definitely not five-star, or even three-star. Update: I have bed bugs from the hotel room!
