Uxmal is a huge, well-preserved site, and it doesn't have the crowds you get at Chichen Itza. You can take pictures at the structures without waiting for people to clear out, and there are no vendors inside trying to sell you things. A couple of the big pyramids can be climbed, with lovely forest views from up there. I love this place. Highly recommend it as an archaeological site, a must-see.

The Mayan architecture is pure and stunning. Just know there's quite a climb with all the steps into the ruins, which can be a bit strenuous if you're not very fit.
