The rooms are nice for the price, and several staff members speak English, though not all. The pool is cold but pleasant, while the hot tub was out of order. There’s no refrigerator in the room, and getting ice is difficult. With a fridge, microwave, or coffee maker, we might have stayed longer, but maybe I’m spoiled.

The staff made this stay especially memorable. Front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant employees were all professional, attentive, friendly, and so nice. A special thanks to the restaurant waiters, especially Ignacio and Pablo. Their service is one of the main reasons I’d recommend the hotel. We stayed three nights. The building is old but well kept, clean, and pleasant, and our room was comfortable and practical. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom had good pressure and hot water right away. There were no safes in most rooms, and none big enough for a laptop. You can leave valuables at the front desk. Breakfast was included in the elegant, comfortable restaurant. The buffet had a huge range of food, which was impressive if you don’t have dietary restrictions. For a plant-based diet, the choices were limited. It would help if potatoes and vegetables were cooked without meat or dairy, since there were already so many dishes containing those. Still, the fresh fruit, freshly made fruit and vegetable juices, and granola meant we managed to have a good breakfast.

The restaurant is the highlight, both for its food and the kindness of the staff. It has a very good restaurant in a dated hotel where everything feels old. The elevator made such loud noises that my kid decided not to use it again. I’d come back only if I had a definite reason to stay in the area.

The restaurant has a retro look, and the food is simple, home-style cooking. The hotel is right by the financial district. Rooms facing the patio are very quiet unless a group is sitting there talking loudly.
