Coqui Coqui Valladolid

We loved the Coco Coco scent so much that it’s now our go-to, and my husband and I are already looking forward to trying more or coming back for a refill. The people at Coqui Coqui even gave us a generous, kind discount when we mentioned we were in town for our wedding. We’d first spotted Coqui Coqui while walking along one of Valladolid’s cutest streets. The welcome was so warm, and they took us through all the available perfumes in a really interesting, informative scent tour without any pressure to buy. We wanted a little time to wear the scents, so we came back the next day and chose our favorite, Coco Coco. Five stars!

We stopped in on a whim and came away with perfume. The scents are beautifully made and feel original, and the team were patient, helpful, and lovely to talk with while we tried a few.

We drove over from Izamal, knowing the store closed at 7 pm, but it was already shut when we got there at 5:45. After walking around disappointed, we were ordering empanadas across the street from Coqi Coqi at 6:45 and saw someone leaving the shop. We told him we’d been there before 6, and all he said was sorry. We’re a hotel group looking for a fragrance, so this was a bad start. Closing an hour and 15 minutes early isn’t good for the business, and the guy closing didn’t handle it well or seem like much of a people person. Just thought the owners should know.

We only stayed two nights and already wish we’d booked longer. Everything felt carefully thought through, right down to the welcome. Since it’s a perfumerie first and a hotel too, they let each of us pick a scent from their Yucatan collection, then provided matching hair products for the stay and a set to take home. We also each chose a perfume and got a small bottle as a gift. Breakfast on the room terrace was fantastic, made with local products and beautifully done. The girls were all attentive, caring, and lovely. I’d highly recommend a stay, or even a stop while in Valladolid to shop, have coffee, or try the chocolate tasting. It’s one of the most beautiful, special places we’ve been in a long time. We hope to return soon.
