Hotel Casa Bamboo

The staff were nice and the location was really convenient. Our room was clean and pleasant, and the pool was lovely, though some wooden boards should be replaced because they're a bit dangerous. It was handy to have a fridge everyone could use.

The one real plus is how close it is to the center. In the room, there's nowhere to work and nowhere comfortable to sit. The only chairs were two slanted designer ones that hurt badly after about 20 minutes, and the beds were very hard. I sleep on my side, and my arm went numb every night. We booked several nights and really regretted it. It felt like we were paying for fancy decor while basic amenities were badly lacking. The staff weren't very friendly and didn't seem to care, so I really don't recommend it.

The huge bed was a favorite, and Casa Bamboo worked really well for our few days in Valladolid. It’s an easy walk from the bus station and into the center. The room had a slightly damp smell, and voices from people chatting in the courtyard carried in, but we still had a great stay.

The location made getting around easy: ADO, colectivos, a grocery store, and downtown were all a short walk away. Our room was spacious, stylish, and practical, just like the photos, and the price was good for what we got. The shared spaces were less impressive. The pool was barely usable, and the common kitchen seemed neglected. The fridge was dirty, and nobody seemed to be checking or cleaning the shared facilities. Insects are part of being in Valladolid, but ants came in from the kitchen, and the doors open straight to the outdoors, which made it worse. Since every room is on the first floor and there’s no elevator, staff helping with luggage would have been useful. When I raised the subject, I got a rude “there is no elevator,” which I already knew. I’d have paid a little for help, or been glad if it were included. For all its flaws, the place is still good value, and I’d recommend it.
