Nuuku

We just had a fantastic three nights at Nuuku and would love to return. It felt like a remote, laid-back getaway, even though town was only 20 minutes away. Franco was an incredible host, and his breakfasts and dinners were delicious, with huge portions.

Everything here feels done with care and love, and the hospitality makes you feel welcome. Franco puts most customer service to shame. The food is beautiful as well as delicious, and the artwork brings the already stunning rooms to life. We left at 4:45am, but the gate was securely closed and we weren’t sure how to get out. A few moments later Franco came out in a robe to open it and wish us goodbye. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, support a small locally owned place like this instead of one of the many huge overrated hotels. Thank you, Franco!

The food was the best I’ve ever had. The private chef is incredible and so sweet, and I still think about the ceviche and pork. There’s so much thought in everything at Nuuku. We hope to come back someday. It was a perfect, relaxing weekend getaway. Franco was incredibly accommodating and there whenever we needed anything. Our beautiful villa had its own plunge pool, hammock, and small seating area, and it was so relaxing to lounge there. There’s a lovely shared pool too. The massages were the best. We enjoyed the first one so much that we booked another for the next day, and luckily they were available. 10/10!

We felt much better leaving this little resort than when we arrived. We had the beautiful place to ourselves for two nights, and loved Franco and his amazing food. It’s a real gem. We listened to the jungle sounds, with the occasional gentle clink of dishes as Franco made our meals. We chose the signature Mayan Mud Massage and had no regrets. Gladys was amazing. I needed quiet, and she relaxed my whole body. My husband preferred to chat and ask questions, and she happily did that with him too. Much love and thanks to Franco and the team!
