Cabañas La Montaña

A pleasant spot in a good location. The furnished cabins have a full bathroom, a grill, and a fully equipped kitchen with utensils. My only complaint is that they’re quite small and a little neglected when it comes to cleanliness and maintenance. The price is high for what you get, and other options may be worth considering.

It’s about 10 minutes from Avándaro and 20 minutes from Valle de Bravo, but you’ll need a car to get to restaurants and shops. There’s just one small store nearby. The place is relaxed and quiet, apart from the motorbikes in the morning, and seems suited to a couples’ getaway. The facilities aren’t too bad, though the bathrooms could be better. If you plan to cook, don’t count on finding basics like salt, sugar, drinking water, or napkins, just basic kitchenware. They say pets are allowed, but charge for bringing them and then scold you if they run loose. Will there ever be a good place to go with your pet?

The cabin was handed over to me with a dirty bathroom, and the internet signal was terrible. There’s no security or parking, so cars are left outside and tires get stolen. Mr. Francisco, the manager, doesn’t respond. You have to pay all the expenses, 20,000 pesos, and if you trust them, they’ll ask you for money to help you. Keep in mind you’ll need at least 20,000 pesos extra. We need to support tourism in Mexico. Long live Mexico! Beware, especially in Valle de Bravo.

The cabins are nice and come in different sizes and prices. They’re in a very quiet area, and every one has a fireplace. Good service too.
