Hacienda Los Olivos

We were exhausted when we finally arrived at 6 pm, after a horrible drive on dirt roads with dangerous dead ends. At one point, a pack of wild dogs surrounded us. Then we found out our room had been given away, and they tried to sell us the master bedroom at a much higher price. They refused to refund us, so we decided to leave and dispute the charge with our credit card. The place felt isolated in the middle of nowhere, and I didn’t feel safe there. I’m glad we left.

The pool and fire pit areas were just right, the rooms were clean, and the staff were great. My wife and I spent the weekend here with four other couples for birthday celebrations at the wineries, and we were pleasantly surprised. It’s a handy base for visiting them. Bring your own snacks and drinks since there’s nothing available at the property, though Oxxo is about five minutes away. You can bring firewood or buy it from the staff. We’ll stay here again on our next winery trip.

The service was outstanding, and the rates seemed fair for the rooms. It’s a quiet place with wonderful staff; our room was very clean and nicely equipped. The pool was nice and the hot tub was great. I’d recommend staying here, though the rooms could use more towel racks and better towels, and there’s no restaurant on site.

We stayed in the deluxe suite, which was spacious and spotless. The Hacienda sits off a dirt road, but Google Maps got us there easily. I wish there had been more kitchen supplies, since I wanted it to feel like walking into a house, and towel racks would help with all the towels in use. Those were the downsides, but the staff were phenomenal and the stay was amazing.
