Fiesta Inn Veracruz Malecon

The room was spacious and comfortable, but I didn’t get what I’d booked. The listing promised a balcony and ocean view, and my room had neither. When I called the front desk to ask about another room with both, they said none were available. I explained that we’d paid for those features, and a young woman told me that offering them was how they get people into the hotel. I’ve already contacted my credit card company about it. Be careful, because the hotel isn’t honoring the reservations as booked and is advertising room features it doesn’t provide. At check-in, they asked if we wanted to sign up for the free breakfast, and of course we said yes. It turned into a time share sales pitch, with a request to talk for an hour and a half about buying in. The man was kind and seemed sincere, but the whole thing was misleading. I was on vacation and didn’t want to be bothered with a time share scam.

The Business Center was comfortable and had a couple of computers and internet, just what I needed to send an email. I also ordered room service a couple of times from the menu without visiting the restaurant, and the food tasted really good. The staff were very friendly. The room itself was nice and comfortable, though some maintenance is needed: the AC wires should be hidden, and the bathroom door didn’t close properly.

The front desk staff were outstanding, and the restaurant kitchen did a great job too, whether I ordered room service or ate by the pool. Definitely eat there. Housekeeping was a different story if you leave your room late: it won’t be cleaned, and the bed will be made carelessly.

The place was very clean and in a great location, and the staff were friendly. I’d come back anytime.
