Hotel y Villas Los Pirules by Rotamundos

Nothing seemed to be working. The jacuzzi was out of order, the bathroom door wouldn’t work properly, and the rooms were full of mold. There wasn’t a TV either, and they said it had been stolen. They didn’t provide any toiletries.

There was nobody to contact in an emergency, and we were left on our own with just one security guard. The cabin doors wouldn’t shut properly, which added to the feeling that the place was unsafe. The cabins themselves were badly neglected and didn’t even have basic cooking utensils. The pool and jacuzzi were freezing, despite being meant to have warm water, and it was nothing like thermal water. Grass had grown over the area and was covered in little balls that stuck to our clothes. I really wouldn’t recommend staying there.

The rooms and garden were decent, but I paid around 3,000 pesos, far too much for what you get. To me, it’s worth about 300 pesos since cold water makes it useless as a place to relax. There’s no bottled water or coffee, even though there’s a coffee maker. They have no restaurant and you can’t buy food there, so you’re left with rustic cabins in the middle of nowhere at exorbitant prices. I’ve stayed in places in San Miguel de Allende for less, with better service, good food, wine, and a restaurant, and rooms just as good or better. I was even afraid to go to the Oxxo convenience store in town because of gunfire in the area. Plus, waves of strong cow manure smell drift through. Calling this place a scam feels fair: the water is cold, not thermal.

The green space and roomy accommodations make this a lovely place to rest. Since it’s far from civilization, you can get away from traffic, city life, and pollution. The event restaurant hall is great! 👏👏👏👏🤜🤛 I recommend it 100%.
