Fiesta Inn Xalapa

This was one of the area’s best hotels back in the 90's, but it isn’t today. There are much better hotels nearby and downtown, with better facilities and prices. I’d only consider this place as a last resort. It’s far from downtown, though the neighborhood is generally safe and there’s a mall within walking distance. The quality is okay, with plenty of choices in the restaurant and bar, and 24-hour room service. Some staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. Others, including reception, security, and maintenance, tend to judge you and treat you according to how you look. The property is old and poorly maintained. The floors are coming apart, there’s a strong smell of humidity, and the AC clearly needs maintenance or an upgrade. They’re listed as a place to charge EVs, but be careful: they’ll tamper with the power so your car stops charging, especially if you complain. Don’t count on charging here if you arrive with a low battery.

The breakfast buffet the next day was amazing, and yes, I’d recommend this place. When we first arrived, we were given room 131 at the back of the hotel. It was okay, then they changed our room to 212 when I returned after leaving. I slept well there, and the heaters and AC worked. It’s very close.

The staff made this a five-star stay for me, and the cost was very reasonable. Housekeeping went above and beyond to keep the rooms neat and comfortable, and the kitchen staff were extremely attentive. The cool staff made excellent food, including the best continental breakfast I’ve ever had.

The staff were polite and very helpful. The place was clean and centrally located.
