Hotel CafeNaranja Xilitla

Monserrat checked us in and was patient while we communicated through Google Translate. She also suggested restaurants and shops nearby. Everyone we met was helpful, and Rigoberto brought a fan to my travel companion’s room when their AC wasn’t working well. My room on the first floor was quiet and peaceful, and its AC worked great. There’s another room on the fifth floor where the AC didn’t work well, so check your room. The rooftop patio is nice, and my shower was clean with good water flow. I drive a big truck, and the parking worked out, though the lot I used was small and could get crowded. They may have overflow parking. I felt safe walking back at night. It’s a short walk uphill to the main square. The hotel is quaint and very nice. I hope to return to Xilitla and stay here again. If you like steak tacos, try the Molcajete at Plutarco’s restaurant nearby. The burgers looked huge and good too, and probably anything there would be tasty.

The room was passable and somewhat clean, but the photos make it look much better. The walls and doors are so thin that you hear everything. It was very noisy late into the night, the parking was tight, and this was the worst hotel experience I’ve had in Mexico so far. I’d look elsewhere.

The rooms were really clean and had a great view. When I visited Xilitla, the staff went out of their way to help me find a tour guide. They’re great.
