Villas Miramar

You don't have to be staying here to eat at the place. They welcome people for breakfast or lunch, and there's a huge variety of dishes. The food is amazing, and Geovany is a fantastic cook who makes really delicious meals. Five stars from me.

My sons and I love Zihuatanejo MX, but this stay at Villas Miramar in Playa Madera has been horrible. The hotel wasn't as described on the website, and the front desk clerk, Francisco, was rude, discourteous, and no help at all. In the early evening, we found there was no water in the sinks. The clerk who checked us in had left for the day, and the night person couldn't help. I had to call Francisco at home, and he came back to the hotel annoyed at being disturbed. He didn't apologize or know what to do. There were plenty of rooms available since it was the season, so he could have moved us. My brother ended up fixing the problem. When I asked for water to take my pills, the clerk said there was none, even though five-gallon water bottles were beside the bar. The next morning there was no water for a shower either.

Falling asleep with the ocean right across from you is such a treat. From the hotel, you can see the open water and the island in the middle, and the rooms are especially nice. The service was good too. The staff put a lot of effort into their work, and I'm glad my first choice turned out to be the best.

The beach is beautiful and only a short walk away, and the cook at the hotel is awesome, he deserves a raise. The staff are nice, but upkeep seems poor, especially when I only saw one person looking after the place. And the toilet was just gross. This was definitely not the best hotel.
