We could watch the beach activities and weekend fire show right from our balcony, and there’s a direct exit to the beach. Shops and food places are downstairs, including coffee, breakfast, a convenience store, tomyam restaurants and stalls, so we parked the car and explored on foot. The apartment sits by the main road and sea. No cooking utensils, but everything was very convenient. Superb stay.

The beach was spacious and breezy, though busy, and the pool was packed. The room itself was in pretty good shape, but it could use proper maintenance. Noise carries badly: I could clearly hear people talking and walking outside, as if there were no door or wall between us. There’s a mandatory pre-check-in process, with no walk-ins. Security won’t let you in without a barcode from the homestay operator. They said they didn’t have my phone number, so I never got the information beforehand. At about 2pm I had to get the operator’s contact from security, then spent around 20 minutes sorting it out at the post. My room still wasn’t ready after 3pm, so they moved me. The original room was on level 12, but they offered level 2 and told me it was the same room type, only a different floor. I accepted. Only while explaining how to get there did she mention the view had changed from the sea on a high floor to land and the car park. I hadn’t specifically booked a sea view, so it was okay, but I wish she’d explained that from the start. I’d still have accepted the change. They post reminders at every entrance about a RM100 charge for entering the premises wet, yet the lifts were flooded and an employee kept mopping them. Nothing seemed to be done about the fine notice. In my opinion, management needs to enforce its own rules if it expects tourists to respect them.

Most of both apartments and the location were clean, though the toilets needed more attention. I’m unhappy because kitchen facilities were one of the main reasons I booked. After I paid, an email told me cooking wasn’t allowed. There was even a screenshot saying, “Cook for yourself, just like home.” Why offer a kitchen and advertise that if guests can’t cook? It felt misleading.

The suite was very clean and had everything we needed. The beach is beautiful and clean, and it’s easy to walk to nearby restaurants, coffee shops and stalls. The town isn’t far either. The view is just the car park, where horns and car alarms can get pretty noisy. Not sure why people honk in a car park. Also, the handheld and rain shower can’t be switched between, so I think something’s faulty.
