DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Penang

The room was clean, comfortable, and well looked after, and the staff were helpful throughout our family stay. Check-in was welcoming and went smoothly. Shalene Shanmogam helped me, explained the facilities and services clearly, and made it easy to get settled. They were friendly and professional. We had a wonderful time and I'd gladly recommend the hotel. I look forward to returning. BR Jegan

The hotel sits on the hillside in Batu Ferringi, so there isn't direct beach access. Getting down to the beach means taking a long set of stairs, and they can get slippery in the rain. Inside, the lifts take a while when busy, and there's no direct stairway between floors. Our room was clean and quiet, with a lovely sea view from the corner. I liked the lobby's art murals, and the Makan Kitchen buffet was a highlight. The lobby feels small but somehow spacious. It's my first visit, and Hilton's global standard and the hotel's amenities made for a nice luxury stay at a more affordable price for this location. The bathroom felt much too small compared with the bedroom, even for two people. The shower divider is short, so water gets onto the toilet and sink area. Still, we had a decent stay at Penangs Hilton Doubletree Resort ⛵

After two days at another hotel, we changed our plans and came to the Doubletree resort by Hilton. I'm so glad we did. The rooms were incredible, the service was phenomenal, and this was the best food we had in Malaysia. The staff's attention to detail stood out. Darwin, who was working at the pool, was especially impressive. He was friendly and professional, showed wonderful hospitality, and went far beyond what was expected while taking great care of everyone there. He really represents the Hilton's image. Five stars for his incredible service.

Shalene, the Guest Relations Manager at DoubleTree Resort Penang, made my working holiday much easier. I'm here June 8-12 and work US night shifts as an analyst, so I spend a lot of time in my room. When I told her I needed a comfortable place to work, she promptly arranged a complimentary room upgrade with a proper desk and study corner. She later found an ergonomic office chair for me and arranged extra water to be sent up, knowing I work nights. Shalene anticipated what I needed as a remote worker and followed through with real care and initiative. What could have been a stressful trip turned into an easy one. I hope management recognizes her. She's a gem and a great representative of Hilton. I'll be back.
