I liked having a private space at a more affordable price, with a secure locker, even though the showers and toilets are shared. They were clean and well maintained, and the hotel felt hygienic overall. Shoes aren’t allowed inside, and they provide special slippers. At check-in, the welcome kit had slippers, a toothbrush, and a plug adapter for my room, a thoughtful touch. There were proper security measures too, so I felt safe. This was my first stay in this kind of hotel, and it was a convenient, unique experience. It doesn’t have the luxury of a traditional hotel, but it’s good value. A worthwhile option if you want comfort and convenience on a budget.

The capsules are close together, and the walls are thin enough that you may hear people on their phones or snoring, so bring earplugs or earphones. Food isn’t allowed in the room, and there’s a non-halal food court next door; several halal places are within walking distance. The location is handy, near the main road, bus terminal, and major attractions. Staff were welcoming and helpful, and although the room is capsule-sized, it was immaculate and surprisingly comfortable. I was satisfied with the service and accommodation.

I’d booked four single rooms through Agoda, but my grandmother died two days before the reservation. The owner was genuinely kind and helped contact Agoda, letting them know in advance that I couldn’t be reached because I was in a rural area for the funeral. I was able to get part of the money back through email. I’m very grateful to the team for their care and help, and hope I get another chance to stay there.

My one-star rating is about the check-in staff member’s behavior, not the hotel itself. I arrived on 03/04/2024 at about 11:30 pm, and he spent roughly 15 minutes lecturing me about the house rules. His tone and manner felt just like a teacher scolding a student. Then he asked if I agreed with the rules. I’d already paid and was there, so I said, “I have no choice.” He replied that I did have a choice and could cancel, with a refund through Agoda. Is it ethical for a hotel to cancel an Agoda booking after it’s been paid? What security does that give us? He offered to take me to a nearby hotel and kept pushing the refund. Why was he sending a guest to a competitor? At one point he refused to check me in, saying I wasn’t cooperating and that he was worried about negative reviews because his boss didn’t like them. Maybe he thought chasing me out would earn a positive review. I insisted on speaking with his boss, and then he checked me in. It was still a very unpleasant stay, and I want the owner to know.
