Breakfast could use more variety and better flavor. At the cereal station there were just two cereal options and a jar of milk, and everything tasted too subtle. The bread station had white bread, a toaster, butter, jams, and kaya, with only orange for fruit. There was also mushroom soup, which tasted good 👍🏻, scrambled egg and mixed salad with a bowl of thousand island, maybe, fried noodles, and nasi lemak. Hot drinks were at the far end. We chose this hotel for an impromptu night in Penang after weighing the options carefully, mainly for its value. We paid RM212 for a queen bed and breakfast. For us, that was suitable and affordable. The room was spacious enough for our family of four. The queen bed was just enough for us and our two toddlers, and the room had an ironing set, a decent-sized bathroom with good water pressure, basic amenities, a mini fridge, an extra pillow, a prayer mat, free parking, and breakfast. There are a few things that could be improved. We arrived around 9 pm carrying our tired toddlers and had to climb three flights of stairs to the third floor with our luggage. A lift, or bellboy assistance near the entrance, would have helped. The toilet lighting was a bit too dim, and the entrance door had a lock only at the handle, with a pair missing from the latch.

I asked housekeeping for a clean duvet the morning after checking in, since the one on the bed was already stained when I arrived. They just turned it over instead of replacing it. I stayed two nights, and I won't be coming back.

The room was on the ground floor and had enough space for three, though I’m not sure whether there’s a lift. There’s a small fridge and an iron in the room, which was handy. You have to ask staff for a hair dryer, and the TV only gets local channels. The toilet door has a gap, so air conditioning can get in while you shower and it feels cool. The AC blows straight at the bed and made it hard to sleep. Room service takes food and drink orders, but breakfast wasn’t included. It was okay apart from the AC affecting my sleep.

I tried three different rooms, and couldn't tell you which was dirtiest. They were old, smelled bad, and had mold. The staff and place were the worst I've come across on my trips. Don't go there.
