The cool weather and the spot near Bentong town made this a nice stay for my family. Athome has a distinctive Balinese-style exterior, and inside our room was clean, roomy, and looked after well. The owner was friendly and attentive, helping us whenever needed. It really did feel homely, and my family felt at ease. We’d recommend it and would come back.

I stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights around my wedding. The welcome I got when I arrived really made my day. The room was nice, the place was good, and I enjoyed my stay. The day after the wedding, the same person who welcomed me helped me find a nice spot for a photoshoot. I really loved it.

The quiet, forest-edge atmosphere and the friendly staff were the best parts for me. Bentong town is about 10 minutes away, parking is ample, and check-in was smooth when there weren’t any issues. Some guests could also switch room types without extra charges. Family suites are spacious, some rooms are comfortable and well furnished, and the water pressure is good. The place has a Balinese look with wood panels, thatched roofs, exposed beams, and reclaimed furniture, though the design doesn’t seem well maintained. It has a rustic feel, and I’d say the price is reasonable for a short stay if you’re fine with something less than luxurious. The restaurant was reported closed since COVID, so don’t count on eating on site. WiFi can be weak or limited to public areas near reception, and some rooms don’t have many power outlets. Cleanliness and upkeep were concerns. I was bitten on the cheeks, and there were reports of bed bugs. Ants and cockroaches were also mentioned, while some rooms smell damp or musty, possibly from the wood and humidity. Lighting can be dim and rooms may look old or worn. I also heard people walking and singing outside because soundproofing is weak, and windows that don’t close properly let in more noise. Some windows feel too open, which can leave you feeling exposed, and there are reports of holes in walls and run-down outdoor and public areas. Whether it’s worth the money depends on what you expect. If you want a polished, hotel-quality stay, the maintenance and cleanliness issues could be frustrating. For a reasonably priced weekend escape with character, wood, and nature, it can be decent value if you’re okay with trade-offs. The atmosphere, peaceful setting, helpful staff, and location are the stronger points. The smells, bugs, and noise may be easier to put up with if you’re not too picky or only stay 1-2 nights.

After a rainy evening, we fell asleep to frogs calling, and there were lots of cats around the property. Staff were polite and nice, and it’s still a good option for an overnight stay near Bentong. The room is unusual, and you can tell a lot of effort went into building the place, but it needs better upkeep. There was dust between the wooden decorations, for example, and the curtain was hanging from plastic.

The resort feels quite run down, and the parking area was so dark it felt eerie, almost like an abandoned place. Our room met basic cleanliness standards, though there’s room to improve. There were two cockroaches in the toilet, which was concerning, and the room lighting was too dim even during the day. The staff were really polite and helpful. I’d give it three stars.
